Not Your Average Shop Truck: Meet “Tiffany,” the 750HP 1966 Chevy C10 by Classic Car Studio
In most automotive workshops, the shop truck is exactly what you’d expect—a well-worn workhorse with a million miles on the clock, a few battle scars, and maybe a lingering scent of old grease and takeout. It’s the dependable mule, running errands, hauling parts, and occasionally moonlighting for the lunch run. Nothing glamorous.
But every once in a while, the shop truck becomes the center of a wild idea. Add some lunchroom imagination, a few fabricators with serious skills, and a dash of SEMA inspiration—and you get something truly extraordinary.
That’s exactly how Tiffany came to life.
Built by Classic Car Studio Speed Shop in St. Louis, Missouri, Tiffany is a 1966 Chevrolet C10 that started off as a solid, patina-rich platform wearing its factory turquoise paint. But what emerged from their workshop is nothing short of a mechanical masterpiece—a seamless blend of vintage character, modern tech, and wild custom fabrication.
Unveiled at the 2016 SEMA Show in the Holley/MSD Group booth, Tiffany stole the spotlight.
Vintage Soul, Modern Power
From the outside, Tiffany retains much of its original bodywork—no crazy widebody kits or aggressive overhauls here. Aside from a custom enlarged rear window, the lines stay true to the truck’s heritage. But look closer, and you’ll find the real magic lies underneath.
To achieve its show-stopping stance, the chassis was extensively modified. The result? When the AccuAir air ride system drops the truck to the ground, the body hugs the pavement. Up front, a custom suspension system pairs with hand-fabricated inner fenders that do more than look good—they showcase the powerplant like a museum piece.
750 Horses of Turbocharged Glory
Under the hood—or more accurately, framed between those custom die-dimpled panels—sits a heavily built LS1-based V8, topped with LS6 heads and force-fed by twin Nelson Racing 64mm mirror-image turbos. Running just 8 psi, the setup still cranks out a brutal 750 horsepower, thanks in part to the Holley Dominator EFI system, TiAL wastegates, and a Sniper intake manifold.
The power flows through a GM 4L60E transmission before hitting a Ford 9-inch rear end outfitted with a 3.73 TruTrac differential—because getting that power to the ground is serious business.
And yes, the side-exit exhausts scream full Pro Mod drag style.
Form Meets Function—Everywhere
Around back, things get even more interesting. The radiator has been relocated to the bed, flanked by twin cooling fans and framed by more custom sheet metal. It’s a clever move that not only aids cooling efficiency but makes room for a front-mounted intercooler.
Inside the cabin, Tiffany keeps its old-school vibe alive. Relicate Custom Leather re-trimmed the bench seat, door cards, and flooring in a way that complements the truck’s vintage DNA while adding a touch of luxury. A custom dash, Dakota Digital gauges, and Vintage Air A/C round out the updates, blending comfort and functionality.
